timeghost Use Case scenario

timeghost Use Case – How to book times directly on clients?

Maximilian Fleckner

timeghost helps you to make strategic decisions based on the intuitive project time tracking it provides. In order to be able to carry out project accounting and billing your clients, it is therefore important that all your working times spent on projects are recorded in addition to the working hours incurred. On this basis, client invoices can be created, or future projects can be controlled in a targeted manner.

Office 365 integration

Through our interface to Office 365, you can do this without much additional effort. And our Zapier connector will help you in this regard as well.

But first let’s focus on the Office 365 integration.

You see your calendar entries or upcoming Microsoft Teams calls directly in the timeghost Feed and with just one mouse click each employee can book his or her time on different projects or tasks.

The usual scenario – Booking times on projects

Here you can see an example for a project related time tracking:

On Tuesday 02.02.2021 three tasks were booked on the project “Website Launch”.

How to book your times on clients?

If the exact recording of tasks, activities and projects plays a rather subordinate role in your company, we recommend creating clients instead of projects. This way, each employee books the work he or she has done to a project (client).

Step 1: Create your client as a project under the menu item “Projects”.

Step 2: In order to simplify the time recording in the future, each employee must enter the name of the client once as a task and assign it to the created project.

Step 3: Book the worked time to a project (client). Just type the first three letters of the client and select the task marked large.

Since you have assigned the task to a project (client) before, you can have your time recorded directly. The whole thing should now look like this.
