timeghost is a fantastic tool that ensures an overview of different projects at any time. Especially for project managers it’s a great tool to manage projects successfully.
In today’s blog, we’ll give you insights into timeghost and show you the ways in which a project manager can optimize the project process and how the application simplifies the project manager’s work.
Overview of different projects

The project manager creates a workspace in which he can create any amount of projects. Within the workspace, he can assign each employee to individual projects.
The employee documents his working hours by indicating which task he is currently working on, selecting the project and specifying the time period for the task.

This gives the employee, as well as the project manager, a great overview of the project tasks.
The project manager can then display the hours worked in different filters

The administrator or the project manager can filter the project status (completed or non completed) and see both the times that are billed and the ones that are not. The project manager as well as the employee can filter by other categories, such as client, projects or people. This gives especially the project manager the possibility to search even more precisely for the information he would like to see.
Setting the project budget and determining hourly rates
A great advantage of the project manager using timeghost is the ability to set a budget or determine hourly rates for employees. If the customer orders a price framework that must be adhered to, this can be taken into account in the software by entering the project budget and individually determining hourly rates. The hours worked and thus the costs that each employee costs the customer are deducted from the total budget. The project manager therefore knows at any time how much of the budget has already been used and can communicate this to the customer “live” in the form of a report.
The export function is ideal for sending the customer weekly updates on the resources used. Information about the project can be exported to an Excel file or a CVS file. In addition, timeghost uses the functions of PowerAutomate.
If you want to know how to use PowerAutomate more effectively, feel free to check out this blog article, where the connection und features between timeghost and Trello is explained.
Permissions
Through permissions, the administrator can individually set for each project what content the team members have access to at timeghost. The administrator, or project manager, has several choices where they can assign permissions:
– Who can see the individual hours of the team members
– Who can see the team activity
– Who can create clients
– Who can create projects
– Who can create tags
He can set whether only he as administrator or everyone has access to the points.

Depending on the team constellation for each project it is very useful to distribute permissions. Due to varying team constellations for the individual projects, it is helpful to make different permission settings for each project.
Bulk Edit feature
Administrators as well as project managers and all other users have the ability to select multiple time entries and edit them at once using the bulk edit function. As an administrator or project manager, you’re able to edit the time entries of other team members, whereas users only can edit their own entries. The modification of the time entries is done automatically for all selected tasks. This saves every timeghost user an enormous amount of time, as the Bulk Edit feature eliminates the need to manually change time entries.
