What is Microsoft Teams?

Microsoft Teams is a platform developed by Microsoft that combines chat, meetings, notes and attachments. 

The service is integrated into the Microsoft 365 suite with Microsoft Office and Skype / Skype for Business. That’s why you can create your own unique workflows using the Microsoft Power Automate connectors and templates that are created using the timeghost connector.

Tracking your Teams messages in timeghost

Our timeghost time tracking tool is especially designed for Microsoft Office 365 and therefore we worked hard to get one of the most important apps that Office 365 offers integrated to timeghost.

So far we are proud to be able to offer our users two possible integrations for Teams that will definitely improve their work lives. 

The first one is our native Microsoft Teams app which allows you to use timeghost with all its features right in Microsoft Teams. You don’t need to switch to another app or your browser, you can simply track your times right in Teams. In order to see how to install the timeghost Teams App please have look at the tutorial further below. 

The second integration can be handled via one of our timeghost Automation connectors. Since the timeghost connectors enable you to get a custom feed entry to your timeghost Feed every time you are mentioned in one of your Teams channels. For this you can use one of our connectors for Microsoft Power Automate, Zapier and IFTTT.

Using timeghost you will never need to leave the Teams App again. 

Our timeghost Teams app went through the Microsoft submission process in order to be sure to meet the requirements to be published in the Microsoft AppSource and we made sure to keep the user experience as excellent as you know it from the timeghost web app already.

You can simply use the native timeghost Teams App in order to track all your times directly where you collaborate with your team.

 

In order to install the app in your Teams account you only need to go to either the integrated Teams AppSource Store or you visit the Microsoft AppSource Store directly. Afterwards you click on the Add-Button and the app will appear on your left hand navigation bar in the Teams App.

Since it is our main goal at timeghost to make it as easy and convenient for our users to track their activities and working hours the integration of Microsoft Teams to your timeghost Feed is one of the features that might help you to be more productive.

That means, you are able to see how long the call was and who attended it. Besides that, every participant of the call will see their individual duration of the call, if they for example entered it at an earlier or later point of time.  

To set it up open the “Feed your Feed” setting right in your timeghost Feed and activate it right there.

timeghost Power Automate Templates for Microsoft Teams

Automate your workflows – track your times more conveniently 

When mentioned in Teams, create feed event in timeghost

In order to track times conveniently when you get mentioned in a Team channel and get a custom feed event to your timeghost Feed please activate the Power Automate template that we prepared for you and follow these steps:

  1. Delete the default value and add the right team in your Teams app account.
  2. Then delete the default value and add the Teams channel you want to receive custom feed events from.
  3. In this next step you can choose the text that should be displayed in the timeghost Feed event that you will receive.
  4. Next you need to delete the default value and add the right workspace in which your times shall be tracked.
  5. Afterwards you only need to add the timeghost user in whose Feed the event should appear. Most of the times that would be your own account.
  6. Please note that you can also adjust the Power Automate template a bit more by changing some of the other input fields you see in the setup, if that will suit your requirements better.
  7. To finish this setup ad start using the template please click on Save.
